The Dodge Charger is getting a few new features and packages for the 2017 model year. The trim level line-up is expanding with the Daytona and Daytona 392. Some of their features are Satin Black details, different tire options, amazing performance brake pads, and embroidered seats. Any model that has the fourth-generation 8.4-inch Uconnect system will get smartphone integration. Under the Charger's Hood

All the Charger models come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The SE and SXT models have the option to have all-wheel drive. The base engine in those two trims is a 3.6-liter V6 that is rated at 260 pound-feet of torque and 292 horsepower. The fuel economy is 23 mpg combined with rear-wheel drive and 21 mpg combined with all-wheel drive. The R/T and Daytona get a 5.7-liter V8 engine that is rated at 395 pound-feet of torque and 370 horsepower. The fuel economy is 19 mpg combined. The R/T Scat Pack and both 392 trims get a 6.4-liter V8 is rated at 475 pound-feet of torque and 485 horsepower and has a fuel economy of 18 mpg combined. The Hellcat gets a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that is rated at 650 pound-feet of torque and 707 horsepower. The fuel economy is at 16 mpg combined.

Design of Dodge Charger

There are many different configurations of the Charger. The trim levels are SE, SXT, R/T, Daytona, R/T Scat Pack, Daytona 392, SRT 392, and SRT Hellcat. The base trim comes with 17-inch wheels, dual-zone manual climate control, a 60/40-splt folding backseat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, Bluetooth, front and rear USB ports, and a six-way power-adjustable driver seat. The SXT and R/T can have Plus Groups that add xenon headlights, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors driver-seat memory functions, heated and ventilated eight-way power front seats, leather upholstery, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. The Premium Group will add automatic wipers, a power-adjustable steering wheels, a navigation system, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and the 10-speaker BeatsAudio sound system. The Popular Equipment Group adds a satellite radio, rear parking sensors, and remote ignition. The Power Sunroof Group will add a rear spoiler and a sunroof.

The Driver Confidence Group adds rear parking sensors, an auto-dimming driver-side mirror, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Charger comes with more than 70 safety and security features. The standard features are anti-lock disc brakes, a driver's side knee airbag, front seat side-impact airbags, and side curtain airbags. Some of the trim levels already come with rear parking sensors and a rearview camera. They both can be added to any model. The advanced safety features available are blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert, a forward collision warning and mitigation system with automatic braking, and a lane departure warning and intervention system.
