The 2024 Jeep Wrangler: Safety Features

The Jeep Wrangler has been around since the late 80's, and continues to be known as one of the safest SUV's one could buy. Every year, Jeep brings in new technological advancements that further develop their safety features, and the 2024 Jeep Wrangler is no exception. With safety features that provide extra protection, you can ensure that you and your passengers will be safe, no matter where you are.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Adaptive cruise control has the ability to adjust the speed of the vehicle of its driver. Unlike regular cruise control which maintains the vehicle at a certain speed, adaptive cruise control adjusts automatically adjusts to the speed of the vehicle ahead. This gives the advantage of not having to slow down and hit the brake, in addition giving the driver more time to react in the event of a sudden change in speed.

Blind-Spot Monitoring

By using the same ultrasonic sensor as the reverse parking system, blind-spot monitoring uses radar based sensors to let you know that there is a vehicle in your blind spot. With the Jeep Wrangler, you'll notice a warning signal in the rearview mirrors. This can be extremely helpful when changing lanes.

Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

Using the ultrasonic sensor that is used for the reverse parking system, the rear cross-traffic alert is designed to warn the driver that their is a vehicle coming from behind when reversing. The alert will be displayed as both a visual caution warning on infotainment screen, as well as a audible warning that can be heard when there is another vehicle approaching.

Automatic Emergency Brakes

The automatic emergency brakes automatically uses a radar at the front of the vehicle that is used to detect the speed and distance of the vehicle ahead. The system is able to detect if there is hard braking coming from the vehicle directly in front. That said, if the driver does not respond with hard enough braking in time, the system has the ability to apply harder braking in an attempt to avoid a crash or mitigate the damage.

Forward Collision Warning

Automatic emergency brakes and forward collision warning go hand in hand. In the event of the driver ahead abruptly stopping or hitting the brakes, forward collision warning comes into play by audibly alerting the driver that they need to hit the brakes in order to avoid a pending crash.

Lane Departure Warning

Lane departure warning uses a camera that is mounted on the top of the windshield. This camera is able to see the lanes on the road, and audibly alert the driver in the event that the driver is drifting out of their lane. In addition, the vehicle will also automatically try to help steer when on certain curves.

360-Degree Camera System

The 360-Degree Camera System is able to show any surroundings around the car when put into reverse by using cameras that are located on the front grill, the back bumper, and both under the left and right mirrors. This allows the vehicle to make a stitched view around the vehicle. Located on the touchscreen display, there are also helpful lines that display around the vehicle that can help guide turns.

Traction Control

In the event of a potential accident, the automatic emergency brakes will enact if the driver is not braking hard enough. However, in order to avoid skidding, the traction control system prevents the wheels from spinning or braking away to the side.

Electronic Stability Control

Electronic stability control (ESP) is another great safety feature that helps with skidding in the event of hard braking during an emergency. If the vehicle senses a risk of skidding, a slippery surface, or the vehicle no longer responds to the drivers steering input, ESP will intervein by keeping itself on track.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

With sensors in all four wheels, these sensors are going to alert you about low or high tire pressure in your wheels by sending a notification to your car as well as your phone if you have the proper application installed. Not only the notification tell you that your tire pressure is low, but it also tells you exactly which tire is causing the issue, resulting in better fuel economy, as well as the tires longevity.

Advanced Airbag System

While the advanced airbag system does work in conjunction with other safety features, what sets these airbags apart from others is their sensors. Airbags are located in the front seats, the rear seats, as well as around the knees. All airbags have sensors that force deployment, but the advanced airbag system senses the severity of the collision before impact. This forces the airbag to optimize accordingly while also being able to sense the position of its passengers.

Each feature is dependent on the consumers trim level of choice, but all of these safety features are meant to provide peace of mind when driving both on and off road. That said, give us a call today to schedule a test drive today!
