The Durango powertrain lineup gets a major update for the new model year. The trio of HEMI V8 engines are being replaced by two versions of the 3.0-liter Hurricane turbo I6. The 3.6-liter Pentastar® V6 engine still comes standard, and generates 295 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. While Dodge has not yet released the specs of the new Hurricane engines, we can expect the base Hurricane to produce about 420 horsepower, and a high-output version to generate about 540 horsepower. The Durango continues to be a powerful tower and hauler. Rear-wheel drive comes standard, while available four-wheel drive provides exceptional traction on and off the road.
