The 2017 Ram 2500 is a heavy-duty pickup truck that offers a number of available powertrain options to ensure you have the capability you need on and off the worksite. In today's post, we will take a deep dive into the three available engines and two available transmissions found under-the-hood of the new 2017 Ram 2500.

When it comes to the engine, the Ram 2500 comes standard with a 6.7-liter Cummins® Turbo Diesel I6 engine. It boasts a number of best-in-class features such as 15,000-mile oil change intervals, as well as class-exclusive smart diesel exhaust brake. Drivers can also look forward to 800 pound-feet of torque, 370 horsepower and a 17,980 pounds of maximum towing power. Additional options include the heavy-duty 66.4-liter HEMI V8 engine and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT).
