Dodge has taken a return to the small crossover market with the new 2023 Dodge Hornet . Featuring novel technology features and a hybrid powertrain, the Hornet is a surprisingly innovative crossover with a sporty edge.

Performance and Drivability

All Hornet GT models come with a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine providing 265 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic transmission for personalized performance. All-wheel drive is an optional inclusion, and the manufacturer states that acceleration is excellent. Sporting from 0 to 60 in 6.5 seconds, the small crossover handles the roads of Kernersville, NC, with vigor. Drivability is smooth, and the Hornet GT feels racy. Drivers who opt for the R/T model will enjoy a plug-in variant that combines a 1.3L four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for 285 horsepower. However, the R/T model replaces the nine-speed automatic transmission with a six-speed one and all-wheel drive.

Interestingly, the Hornet R/T features an incredible feature known as Powershot mode, which temporarily boosts horsepower output by 25 and increases acceleration.

Interior

The interior of the Dodge Hornet GT is compact and aesthetic, with a deep red and black colorway providing buyers with a sophisticated and sporty cabin space. There's much more room for passengers in the front than in the back, which is to be expected due to the compact nature of the vehicle.

Technology is sophisticated, with the vehicle hosting a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital information gauge.
