The multinational automotive manufacturing company known as Stellantis features a diverse lineup of vehicles across several well-known brands. Their more notable vehicle brands are Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. That said, Stellantis is stopping the production of certain 2024 models within its lineup, but why? And which ones? Here are 5 Stellantis vehicles that have been discontinued for 2024:

Chrysler 300

Stellantis announced the cancelation of the 2024 Chrysler 300 in December of 2022. Stating that the decision was a mutual one. Stellantis has decided to focus on other key models as they transition to newer technologies and market demands. What does this mean? Currently, we are seeing a trend in the automotive industry where electric models are becoming more popular within this ever-changing market. As such, Chrysler has chosen to shift their attention towards electrification. That said, this transition is likely to be a gradual one, meaning that you should still see vehicles like the Chrysler Pacifica and Voyager still in production. Currently, the only electric vehicle that Chrysler has put out is the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. However, as of last year, the news of the "Chrysler Airflow" was made public in August of 2023, and is expected to be released in the near future as their first all-electric vehicle.

Dodge Challenger

The discontinuation of the Dodge Challenger marks the end of an era for this iconic muscle car. However, the Dodge Challenger is far from being put out to pasture. Instead, Stellantis has chosen to make the Dodge Challenger all-electric. Expected to debut in 2024, this new generation of Dodge Challenger is said to offer a performance-oriented experience while also embracing the benefits of electric propulsion. No other information has been released at this time. However, as we know it, the current generation of Dodge Challenger ceased production, concluding with the 2023 model year. This again, is a reflection of Stellantis's overarching goal to meet the current market's standards and demands. Hopefully there will be more information very soon!

Jeep Cherokee

This one may come as more of a shocker to some of our customers, but yes, it is true. Stellantis has chosen to discontinue the Jeep Cherokee, ultimately removing it from the new Jeep lineup. In earlier years, the Jeep Cherokee was considered to be a strong contender in the mid-SUV market. It's customers were very loyal to the brand due to its stellar off-road capabilities. Sadly, it has faced many challenges in recent years as far as maintaining strong sales. In fact, it was a fierce contender to its main competitors being the Toyota RAV4, the Honda CR-V, and the Ford Escape. However, all good things must come to an end. By discontinuing a less popular model like the Jeep Cherokee, Stellantis hopes to put its investments towards its and upcoming projects.

Dodge Charger

Like the Dodge Challenger, the Dodge Charger has also been discontinued. The Charger has been a long-standing model in Dodge's lineup. Concluding its production with the 2023 model year. Discontinuing the Dodge Charger allows for better performance as the newer generation is currently in development. Additionally, with stricter emissions and fuel economy regulations on the rise, the Charger has no choice but to adapt. Being that the Dodge Charger is known for its powerful engine, Stellantis feels less inclined to continue its production, but rather, optimize its abilities by becoming all-electric. Allowing it to become more performance-based than ever before.

Jeep Renegade

Interestingly enough, the 2024 Jeep Renegade has not been officially discontinued. The Renegade will continue production in Italy and Brazil, as well as continue to be sold in Mexico, Europe, South America, and the Asia Pacific region. That being said, the Jeep Renegade has been discontinued for the U.S. market. The reason for this decision lies in American consumer preferences. The United States is moving less towards sedans and more towards SUV's and crossovers. That said, while the Renegade is considered to be a mid-size SUV, it has faced intense competition with larger-size SUVs which seem to be the current market trend. That said, as far as its continued production in other countries, it will all depend on market demands and regulatory requirements.
