Have you ever wanted to go off-roading but didn't want to give up the environmental benefits of driving an electric vehicle? With the all-new Jeep Recon, you don't have to choose between the two. You can enjoy the best of both worlds without sacrificing the fun and adventure that comes with owning a Jeep.

The Jeep Recon is the first fully electric SUV to earn Jeep's coveted Trail Rated® badge, which means it was designed with serious off-road capability in mind. Unlike many electric SUVs on the market today, the Recon isn't just built for commuting. It's built to handle trails, obstacles, and outdoor adventures while delivering the benefits of electric vehicle technology.

The Recon is available in the Moab trim, a name inspired by Moab, Utah, one of the most iconic off-roading destinations in the world. Known for its rugged terrain, steep climbs, and breathtaking scenery, Moab represents everything Jeep enthusiasts love about exploring the outdoors.
How I Would Build My Perfect Jeep Recon
One of the best things about the Jeep Recon is the ability to customize it to fit your lifestyle. If I were building my perfect electric off-road SUV, here's exactly how I'd do it.
Starting with the Exterior
When it comes to color options, Jeep offers both solid colors and two-tone combinations. Personally, I'd go with the two-tone option because it automatically adds the black roof, giving the Recon a more aggressive and modern look. Not only does the black roof create a great contrast, but it also helps highlight the rugged design elements that make the Recon stand out from other electric SUVs.

Getting the Full Open-Air Jeep Experience and Prioritizing Protection
Let's be honest, one of the biggest reasons people love Jeeps is the open-air freedom. If you want that classic Jeep feeling without sacrificing visibility, I'd add the Mopar® Doors-Off Mirror Kit. This accessory allows you to remove the doors while still maintaining visibility and safety, making every trail ride feel even more connected to the outdoors.

If you're planning on doing any serious off-roading, protection is non-negotiable. That's why I'd add the Mopar® Rock Rails. These heavy-duty rails help protect the lower body of the vehicle from rocks, ruts, and other obstacles you might encounter while exploring tougher trails. Whether you're new to off-roading or a seasoned trail rider, having that extra protection gives a little more peace of mind when the terrain gets rough.

For my build, I'd also add the Painted Aluminum Wheels. They keep that rugged Jeep look we all know and love while adding a clean, premium finish that works perfectly with the Recon's design. It's a simple upgrade, but one that really completes the overall appearance.

If you're worried that choosing the black roof means giving up open-air capability, don't be. I'd add the Sky One-Touch® Power Top, which allows you to retract the roof with the push of a button. No stopping, no hassle, and no complicated process. It's probably one of the most convenient ways to enjoy open-air driving, especially on those perfect weather days when you just want to soak up the sunshine.
Moving Inside the Cabin
When it comes to the interior, Jeep offers two Capri Seat color options: Global Black and Joshua Tree. Both look great, but if I had to choose, I'd probably lean toward Joshua Tree because it adds a unique touch and helps the cabin stand out a little more.
Protecting the Interior
Let's face it, if you're using your Jeep the way it's meant to be used, dirt, mud, sand, and water are eventually going to find their way inside. That's why I'd add the Mopar® All-Weather Cargo Tray and All-Weather Mat Inserts. Not only do they help protect the carpet and cargo area, but they also make cleanup much easier after a long weekend on the trails. A quick rinse and they're ready for the next adventure.
Comfort Goes a Long Way
If I'm spending hours driving to an off-road destination or heading out on a weekend getaway, comfort is definitely something I want to prioritize. The Comfort Package is an easy addition to my build because it includes:
  • Heated second-row seats
  • Ventilated front-row seats
  • Digital auto-dimming rearview mirror
  • Interior rear-facing camera
And let's be honest, that interior camera could come in handy for keeping an eye on the kids and settling the occasional backseat snack dispute.
Ready for an Adventure?
Whether you're towing camping gear, bikes, or extra equipment for a family road trip, I'd also add the Trailer-Tow Group. Having the ability to tow additional gear makes the Jeep Recon even more versatile and helps ensure you're prepared for whatever adventure comes next.
Don't Forget about the Paint Protection!
Earlier, I talked about protecting the inside of the vehicle, but what about the outside? When you're navigating wooded trails, tree branches and brush can leave behind scratches that nobody wants to see on their new vehicle. That's why I'd finish off my build with Mopar® Paint Protection Film. It's a great way to help protect the paint from minor scratches, debris, and trail damage while keeping your Jeep Recon looking its best.
Final Thoughts
The Jeep Recon combines everything I love about the Jeep brand with the innovation of an all-electric SUV. It offers real off-road capability, open-air freedom, modern technology, and plenty of opportunities for customization.

For my perfect Jeep Recon build, I focused on enhancing off-road protection, maximizing comfort, and preserving the legendary open-air experience that makes a Jeep feel like a Jeep.

If you're looking for an electric off-road SUV that can handle weekend adventures, family road trips, and challenging trails alike, the Jeep Recon is shaping up to be one of the most exciting vehicles in Jeep's lineup.
