Keep reading to learn more about the Jeep Grand Cherokee and how it evolved into the vehicle it is today!

The Jeep Grand Cherokee's Birth

1993 is the model year the Jeep Grand Cherokee came out. Three trim levels--base, Laredo and Limited--were initially available to purchase the Jeep Grand Cherokee in. Every new model of the Jeep Grand Cherokee came with four-wheel anti-lock brakes and a driver's side airbag. Base models came with a five-speed manual gearbox, a cloth interior and full instruments. Getting the Laredo trim provided a buyer with cruise control, power mirrors, fancy seats and body cladding. Finally, the Limited trim came with a very great sound system, a four-speed automatic transmission, air conditioning and leather seating.

The SUV's Evolution

Soon enough, for the 1994 model year it was decided that the sound systems on all Grand Cherokee models should be upgraded. Jeep also made a power sunroof available. The base model was now going to be referred to as "SE." For crash protection side-impact beams were added in the doors. Soon, in 1998, the Jeep Grand Cherokee would be available with a new, powerful 5.9-liter V8 engine.

Fast forward to the Jeep Grand Cherokee's 2005 model, and three different options are available for the vehicle. This model year the vehicle got an independent front suspension, and new four-wheel drive systems were available. This vehicle was produced with loads of standard safety equipment, and was available with a very solid warranty.
