The debate of comparing both the Ram 1500 and the Toyota Tundra, is one that we hear often. Reason being, they both stand out as leaders in the work truck market when it comes to their towing capabilities, durability, and overall stylistic preferences. Ranging from a 3.6L V6 engine, to a 6.2L Supercharged HEMI V8 that is available in the TRX models. That being said, the Toyota Tundra has a lot less engine options for their customers. In fact, the Toyota Tundra only has the 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 engines, and the 3.5L Hybrid V6 engines. None of which possess a V8 option.

Then there is towing and payload capabilities. When comparing both the highest engine levels, the Ram 1500's 5.7L V8 engine beats the Toyota Tundra's 3.5L Hybrid V6 engine by towing up to 12,750 pounds. Whereas the Toyota Tundra is only able to tow up-to 12,000 pounds.

Off-Roading

When comparing both the Ram 1500 TRX and the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, both are considered great options for off-roading enthusiasts, but it all depends on what you're looking for. The Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is designed more for moderate trail driving, rock crawling and overlanding. The Ram 1500 TRX however, is for those who prefer higher speeds and tougher conditions. That being said, when it comes to extreme performance, the Ram 1500 is the clear winner. 

Interior & Comfort

The reason that the RAM 1500 wins when it comes to its interior is solely based on its luxurious options in the higher trim levels being the Laramie and Limited. Additionally, the Ram 1500s use higher quality materials such as leather, wood, and metal accents that allows for a more pleasurable driving experience. That does not mean that the Toyota Tundra doesn't have it's perks. The Tundra is considered a work truck and was therefore not intended to prioritize luxury and comfort, but functionality and practicality. Moreover, both trucks have great interiors for different reasons, but in terms of comfort, the Ram 1500 is the clear winner.

The RAM 1500 showcases the Uconnect infotainment system, offered in both a 12-inch and 14-inch touchscreen display. The reason that Ram has continued to use Uconnect since 2003 over any other infotainment system is because of its quality and user-friendly interface. It also comes standard with available features such as navigation, SiriusXM radio, voice command, Bluetooth connectivity that features both Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto, and more. The Toyota Tundra features the "Toyota Audio Multimedia System". It also offers both an 8-inch and 14-inch touchscreen display. Like the Ram 1500, the Toyota Tundra also comes standard with navigation, SiriusXM radio, voice command, as well as Bluetooth. Therefore, due of its superior Uconnect system, larger touchscreen options, and user-friendly interface, the Ram 1500 emerged as the winner in this catagory.
