Ram trucks have long been one of the bestselling pickup trucks in America, and for good reason. They're rugged, dependable, and ride like a dream. Here at Kernersville Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we just can't get enough of them.

Ram trucks have been nicknamed "America's Longest-Lasting Pickups." They've been around for a long time and have evolved a lot over the years, but their style and versatility has never changed.

The lineup of Ram pickup trucks comes in three sizes and an astounding number of trim levels. There's the light-duty Ram 1500 pickup, the mid-range Ram 2500 pickup, and the heavy duty Ram 3500 pickup.

Each truck has its own capabilities, but they all have the Ram-built strength and dependability North Carolina drivers want. From backcountry dirt lanes to hauling campers on the highway, these trucks can handle whatever you throw at them, and they do it with style.

If you're in the Kernersville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, and Charlotte area and you're in the market for a pickup truck, consider any of the Ram models. They each have so much to offer and can do so much.

Similarities

Being from the same family, of course these trucks all have a bunch of things in common, including:

  • All are available in multiple body styles - a regular cab (two-door style), quad cab (four doors but the rear doors are on three-quarters size), and the crew cab (four full-sized doors)
  • All of them have multiple engine options
  • All have a couple of different bed lengths as options
  • All three Ram trucks come with a high-quality, near luxury-level interior constructed of nice materials unheard of in the pickup truck market
  • All come with Ram's signature, unique spring coil rear suspension, meaning your truck will ride smooth whether it's toting a heavy load or completely empty

Differences

Where there are similarities, there must also be some differences. This family of pickup trucks are all related after all, but they each have their own personality.

Ram 1500

The 2017 Ram 1500 is a great, do-anything truck. But, don't take our word for it. Consumer's Digest also thinks so. That's why they named the Ram 1500 the Pickup Truck Best Buy for 2017.

With a resume like that, you know it's a great truck.

The 2017 Ram 1500 is light-duty, but don't mistake it that for meaning small. It's a full-size pickup that is available in multiple body styles, a couple different bed lengths, and ten trim levels.

For the first time, in 2017 Ram eliminated an option six-speed automatic transmission, making the 8-speed automatic the only choice, standard across all trims.

The 2017 Ram 1500 also received perfect scores in crash test safety ratings from the government. When it comes to utility, this light-duty is no lightweight. It can haul about 1,800 pounds in its bed and tow a maximum of 10,640 pounds.

Ram 2500

The middle child in the Ram family comes in seven trim levels. It also comes with Ram's state-of-art, signature tech options as well, including heated mirrors, power sliding rear window, and heated steering wheel.

When it comes to working hard, the Ram 2500 can carry 3,990 pounds in the bed and tow up to 17,980 pounds.

In terms of safety, the Ram 2500 scored excellent in government crash tests, with perfect scores in several of the tests conducted.

Ram 3500

The big brother, workhorse of the Ram pickup truck family comes in six trim levels and is capable of doing anything you want it to. It can tow an impressive 31,210 pounds and haul 6,580 pounds in its bed.

This heavy-duty, full-sized pickup truck is versatile enough for daily commuting and weekend family outings, but it really shines when working.
